Dr. Bjerrings recearch is focusing on long-term cardiovascular adverse effects after cancer treatment, his main supervisor is Sebastian Sarvari, MD, PhD.

Bjerring recieved his medical degree at NTNU, Trondheim in 2014 and did his internship at Drammen Hospital. He worked as a general practitioner in the northenmost part of Norway, rural Finnmark, for one year. As part of combined NGO and government effort to improve healthcare, he spent six weeks in Sierra Leone collecting data on surgical activity, publishing his work on novel strategies to readily assess surgical activity in the Lancet in 2015.

He joined the Center for Cardiological Innovation as a PhD fellow in March of 2017. His PhD research is focused on the use of different echocardiographic techniques for the assessment of late cardiotoxic effects of cancer treatments and the impact of exercise on the hearts of preadolescent and adolescent athletes.

His supervisors are Sebastian I. Sarvari, MD, PhD and Professor Thor Edvardsen, MD, PhD
