Vidar Ruddox

Vidar Ruddox, MD, PhD at Vestfold Hospital Trust.

He defended his PhD thesis titled "Implementation of new echocardiographic modalities in routine practice in a general hospital – Pocket-size cardiac ultrasound and 3 dimensional echocardiography. Studies on feasibility and diagnostic accuracy." in September 2015.

The thesis aimed at evaluating the feasibility and diagnostic accuracy of pocket-size focused cardiac ultrasound when performed by non-specialists, as well as the feasibility of 3D echocardiography in cardiology care.

His interests are to what extent new techniques and modalities currently reserved research purposes and specialized areas can be implemented in normal clinical practice at a general hospital and what are the effects of such implementation. Myocardial deformation imaging in the follow-up of coronary heart disease patients is among his current research projects.
