Kristin McLeod

Kristin McLeod, PhD, Digital Manager for GE Healthcare Cardiovascular Ultrasound

Kristin defended her PhD thesis “Reduced-order statistical models of cardiac growth, motion and blood flow: application to the tetralogy of Fallot heart” at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis / INRIA in October 2013. Her supervisors were: Xavier Pennec and Maxime Sermesant from INRIA.

Kristin McLeod manages the digital portfolio of the cardiovascular ultrasound business segment at GE Healthcare; driving partnerships with 3rd party companies, directing AI developments in the business, and leading directions in advanced connectivity via cloud/edge offerings.

Kristin, from New Zealand originally and now based in Oslo, has a background as a researcher and holds a PhD from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis/INRIA in France in medical image analysis. Kristin has been working in advanced development of AI for cardiovascular imaging for the past 10 years.

In addition to leading commercial directions in AI and digital technologies at GE, Kristin is actively involved in a number of research projects. She is the coordinator of the EU-funded MARCIUS project and the PI of the EU-funded PIC project and is currently supervising three PhD students and three MSc students. Kristin has been actively involved in the medical image analysis community and was one of the co-founders of the student board of the MICCAI conference (the largest medical image analysis in the world today).
